Classic Spanish Sangria Recipe
Fruit, rum, red wine and juice - a Spanish classic, you cannot lose!
5 STARS! Better than most Sangria I've had in restaurants! I even messed it up a little bit... I read the recipe wrong and poured the rum, wine, & sugar all in at the same time. It was wonderful still!! Also, I used the blackberry wine as some suggested! I'm never letting this recipe go... DEFINATE KEEPER!!!
This sangria recipe is really really really good!!!!! Next time we'll use a little more rum.
This recipe was THE BEST!!! I made the Sangria for a party and received rave reviews all night long! Everyone kept asking for more and how to make it. I did follow some of the other suggestions and used a blackberry merlot and a little sprite. You can't go wrong...this was the best drink!
Delicious and refreshing. Kool-Aid for grown ups. My cousins in Madrid taught us to add some orange liqueur (Cointreau or Triple Sec) for a little extra kick. And if you can, let this sangria sit for two days before serving--5x more delicious. Serve icy cold with slice of the marinated citrus--it will be a gorgeous purple color after a day or so in the wine. Great recipe! Thanks!
I loved this recipe! I used Captain Morgan spiced rum and Arbor Mist Blackberry Merlot. I made one batch with the 1/2 cup of sugar and one batch without it and to be honest- it doesn't need the sugar at all! The wine and orange juice made it sweet enough, but not overboard. This is perfect for a romantic evening or a summer day! Loved it
I was kind of disappointed with the recipe. Based on all the reviews I thought it would be FANTASTIC...it was very good but it was incredibly strong. Not a drink you should have ore that 2 glasses of (which I learned the hard way:)). I'll make this again, but will add more orange juice and will top off with lemon-line soda as suggested by other reviews.
Excellent recipe. Everyone at my party liked it. On a warm day it was great to have this chilled on the patio. Stood up to ice really well, too.
