Lasagna with cottage cheese and homemade beefy tomato sauce.
loved it! everyone wanted seconds. no one even realized it was cottage cheese! i used friendship whipped cottage cheese- it is pretty similar to the consistency of ricotta. i will be making this again!
Call me crazy but I think that the cottage cheese makes this dish so unique and delicious. Although this is not my default lasagna recipe, I use it often and I am always satisafied with the results. I final sprinkling of chopped fresh parsely and shredded basil are a nice and tasty touch to the dish once it has completed baking.
I love this lasagna! I follow the recipe exactly and it never goes wrong! Thanks!
It was good. I used Ricotta and added to the sauce. I would not say it was the best i've had, but good.
Very Very good! I made this during the beef recall scare so I used ground turkey instead. I love the flavor and health benefits of eating turkey. I was concerned the flavor wouldn't be as good but it was. I added yellow squash, spinach and used ricotta and cottage cheese. Yum yum yum. I am happy that I made so much because this dish is going fast.
Be sure to actually put the cottage cheese mixture into the blender. The smooth texture is what makes it work! I'm glad I didn't just go out and buy Ricotta! The flavor just gets better -- so leftovers are great, too! eta: made this again with Ricotta I'd bought for a different recipe I decided not to make. I must say... YUM. I simmered the sauce for probably 1.5hrs (I forgot to start boiling noodles during that first hour!). The sauce certainly had a better flavor this time. Really good -- and pretty darn easy recipe.
